Football Selections February 15th

As mentioned in my tweet yesterday I had no time for any research so I relied on in-play information to get involved in a number of games.  Out of the 5 trades I posted just two turned positive and they were a lay of Benfica and a back of Eintracht Frankfurt. Arsenal with all their dominance couldn’t get an equaliser and once I saw the red card I knew that trade was closing as a loss. The same happened with Sporting who also had a man sent off and Leverkusen who had complete control with 71% possession, 16 shots and 8 corners couldn’t just get over the line. Small loss on the day but Wednesday’s work was very positive and it all began with a straight bet on Sion who at half time was level at 1-1 against FC Luzern. My intended play on this game as I outlined was to back Over 2.5 Goals but the two early goals put a halt to that as I was nowhere near being matched at the time of the first goal. At halftime however it was very clear that Sion were in a much more dominant position especially against a 10 man home team and they duly delivered the all important trading goal on 79 minutes from the spot. The second game of St Etienne v Strasbourg was a non runner for me as the home team scored very early to cancel out my bet on Over 0.5 in the Half Time market. Onto the Championship games and the only game that lost was Preston v Norwich. Fair play to Preston who gave Norwich no chance and I layed them immediately after going 1-0 up at odds of 1.68 and followed that up again at 1.19 when they went 2-0 but Norwich failed to stage any comeback.  In Leeds v Swansea I layed the 2-0 scoreline on 60 minutes and a late penalty for the away team gave me full returns. The final trade of the evening was a draw lay in Sheffield United v Middlesbrough. I followed exactly what I laid out and that was a lay at odds of 3 which was matched shortly after 20 minutes. I had seen enough positives at that stage to take it on and had to wait a while for a goal but it came on 61 minutes to the home team which led to a very nice return of 70%.

Onto today and I have six games highlighted for potential trading and betting opportunities.

Pogon Szczecin v Gornik Zabrze – Kick Off 5pm

Home win

Turkey Super Lig

Yeni Malatyaspor v Besiktas – Kick Off 5.30pm

Backing Over 0.5 Goals in the Half Time market and will drip my stake from 1.6 to 2.5

2. Bundesliga

Paderborn v FC Koln – Kick Off 5.30pm

Going to wait until half time to enter a trade and will back the Overs with a view to trading out on a goal being scored. What’s important to note is that I am backing the Overs 2 goals above what the half time score is. For example if the game is 1-0 at half time I will back Over 2.5, if it is 0-0 I will back Over 1.5 etc. etc. My exit plan if no goal has been scored is normally to take a loss between 75-80 minutes.

Augsburg v Bayern Munich – Kick Off 7.30pm

Both teams have very strong stats for Over 2.5 Goals in their home and away matches respectively. The current price of 1.48 to back is too low so I’ll wait and see if I can get matched at 1.7 in-play and if so will drip my stake up to 2.6

Ligue 1

Lyon v Guingamp – Kick Off 7.45pm

A few markets have qualified for me on this game – draw lay, lay away (only if they take the lead), Over 0.5 First Half and a correct score lay in the second half. I have a meeting to attend at 8pm and will take the Over 0.5 Half Time bet as I can set and forget. Odds too low currently so I’ll place my starting stake at 1.6 and see if I get matched up to 2.5

Argentina Superliga

Velez Sarsfield v Colon – Kick Off 10pm

If the away team take the lead at any stage up to the 70th minute I will lay them and trade out on an equaliser.
